Hi, I’m Rene.

I’m the President of Patio Pleasures and a lifelong entrepreneur at heart. I absolutely love business, leadership and the opportunity to help others grow and thrive. Leading our team at Patio Pleasures is one of my greatest joys. I’m proud to also serve on the board of the Midwest Pool & Hot Tub Alliance to support and elevate our industry.

I’m a self-proclaimed workaholic who genuinely thrives on staying busy—downtime makes me antsy! Whether it’s diving into new business ideas, leading a team, or brainstorming my next creative project, I’m happiest when my plate is full (and then some).

When I’m not at work, you’ll usually find me pouring energy into my other passion projects – my husband and I own a handful of Airbnb rentals that I’ve had so much fun designing with unique themes and personal touches. Interior design has always been a creative outlet for me, and I love turning spaces into something memorable and meaningful.

Outside of business and design, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling to new places, gardening and even squeezing in a sewing project or two when time allows. I’m someone who believes in creating beauty and balance both at work and at home.

Hi, I’m Brett.

I’ve spent most of my life in and around the construction world and family business – it’s part of who I am. From working on job sites as a kid to leading pool construction projects today, I take pride in building things that last, thinking outside the box and being part of a great team.

I’m a Certified Building Professional (CBP) for pools — it’s a nationally recognized license that’s tough to earn and reflects a high level of skill and experience in the industry.

When I’m not overseeing projects or out in the field, I enjoy spending time at our cabin in Northern Wisconsin, fishing, and watching auto racing – specifically open wheel racing at Angell Park Speedway. I grew up around racing and learned a lot of my mechanical skills being part of my family’s race team.

I also appreciate a good Mike Rowe podcast – real work, real stories, and a little grit always resonates with me.

My wife, Rene, and I own a few Airbnbs, and let’s just say I’m often “voluntold” to help out on one of her many renovation projects. It keeps me on my toes!

My family teases me for always knowing random facts and historical tidbits. Things most people don’t know, but I somehow do.

Hi, I’m Tom. I am a co-founder of Patio Pleasures. In 2006 with a simple idea and a lot of grit built a value driven company which I am very passionate about. Over the years I have helped create and grow our business with my leadership, customer relations and service skills. I am proud to contribute to a team who are now continuing and ensuring our legacy in the hands of its employees .

Outside the service and leadership demands of the pool and spa industry, I like to spend my free time with my family. With my wife Amy, we both share a family with 3 kids each and 2 dogs filling our house with lots of love. I love the outdoors, anything from hunting, pool side, gardening, hiking, biking, dirt biking, kayaking or who could forget the hot tub! And if I am not outside, I am inside watching the game, any game in fact with my bowl of ice cream!! I am involved in the Lodi Optimist Club as a member and a journeyman electrician as well!

As a founding owner turned proud employee-owner at Patio Pleasures, I’ve worn many hats—showroom sales, service scheduling, retail, fiberglass pools, HR, and ESOP liaison. Each role has deepened my pride in the team we’ve built and the journey from a small gas station showroom to two nationally recognized locations.

What means the most to me? Watching our people grow—especially those who started with no experience and now lead with confidence.

I’m also a mom of three boys who’ve all been part of the business, from stocking chemicals to joining the pool crew. It’s been special showing them what it takes to build something with heart and hustle.

When I’m not diving into growth strategies or taking early-morning HR calls, I’m usually running, digging in the yard, or rearranging furniture (again). I love interior design, real estate, and discovering the next great Wisconsin supper club with my husband—old fashioned in hand. And yes, I’m always up for a spontaneous casino trip. Something about the gamble reminds me of entrepreneurship: a little risk, a little instinct, and a whole lot of belief that the next move might be the big one.

If I had a spirit animal, it’d be a golden retriever—loyal, high-energy, and juggling too many tennis balls.

My name is Tommy, and I’m proud to be an employee-owner with Patio Pleasures since 2024. I get the opportunity to work alongside our sales team every day, helping our clients find the best options for their enjoyment, entertainment, and wellness needs. I have lived in Sun Prairie since 2007, have been married to an amazing woman since 2008, and have a pair of incredible kiddos. I’m a big fan of the Packers, Badgers, Brewers, and Bucks. Something unique about me is that I once entered a radio contest where I spent 55 days living in a truck to win the truck! When free time presents itself, I try to find a golf course or a tree stand, depending on what time of year it is, and if I can’t find either of those, I find a beer! Cheers!

Michelle brings a wealth of customer service expertise and a passion for problem-solving to the Patio Pleasures service department. With 25 years of banking experience prior to joining the team, she excels at managing the phones, scheduling service, and effortlessly putting out fires. Michelle considers herself a “detective” when a customer calls with a pool or hot tub issue; instead of offering generic answers, she digs deep, asks the right questions, and leverages both her professional service experience and her personal knowledge to solve the mystery. As a proud repeat employee who has worked in both sales and service, Michelle loves using her deep industry insight to ensure every local homeowner gets the proactive care and support they deserve.

Outside of work, Michelle lives and breathes the exact backyard lifestyle Patio Pleasures creates. As a childhood pool lover who knew she would own one as an adult, she now spends her free time enjoying her own Patio Pleasures above-ground pool and hot tub. Her weekends are filled with relaxing family time, “Sunday Fundays” with friends, and plenty of sports. Michelle is incredibly proud of her daughter, Paige, a standout athlete who competes nationally in basketball for Team Herro (Nike EYBL) and excels as a versatile, difference-maker on the track team. Whether she is traveling across the US to cheer Paige on or grilling out at home, Michelle cherishes every moment spent making memories with her family.

Adam is the mastermind behind the scenes at Patio Pleasures, ensuring that every project is meticulously prepped and ready to roll. Specializing in parts coordination and technical project research, Adam takes immense pride in running a tight ship. He is incredibly intentional about warehouse organization, creating a highly efficient, convenient environment so the field teams have exactly what they need to succeed on every job. His dedication to getting the details right the first time gives Patio Pleasures customers total peace of mind, knowing that the logistics of their backyard transformation are in the hands of an absolute professional.

When he steps away from the warehouse, Adam trades parts lists for playlists. An avid music fan and concertgoer, he loves catching shows at The Sylvee, though nothing beats his true favorite: live rock music outdoors under the open sky. He also loves unwinding with action and comedy movies, hanging out with friends and family, and attending local sporting events. Embodying the true Wisconsin lifestyle, Adam even enjoys the ultimate relaxation setup, spending his downtime kicking back in his very own hot tub right out of his garage.

Hi, I’m Sara.

Over the years, I’ve been proud to play a part in helping families bring their backyard dreams to life—from the first consultation to the unforgettable moment when the kids finally leap into their new pool. Those moments never get old. One of my greatest honors in this work is seeing the joy and memories that begin the moment a project is complete, especially after months—or sometimes years—of planning together.”

In my time here, I’ve been fortunate to celebrate a few professional highlights. In 2018, I was recognized as a Ruby-Level Top Producer for Marquis Spas. I also played a role in our team receiving the APSP Gold Standard of Excellence Award in 2019—ironically for a project where I accidentally ordered the wrong spa model! (That’s a story Brett still likes to bring up.) I’m also proud to be part of our fiberglass pool team that earned back-to-back Dealer of Excellence awards from Imagine Pools, a testament to the hard work and heart this team puts into every install.

Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, reading, and relaxing at our seasonal campground. I love sending handwritten notes just because, and any chance to travel and spend time with family fills my cup. A personal health journey, including a connective tissue disorder, has given me a deeper appreciation for hydrotherapy—not just as a product we sell, but as something that’s truly been a lifeline in my own wellness.

Being part of an employee-owned company has added even more meaning to what I do. I’m not just showing up for a job—I’m contributing to something lasting, alongside a team that genuinely cares about each other and the families we serve.

I grew up in Beaver Dam and lived there my whole life-Until Covid hit and I met a woman worth moving to Madison for. I’ve been in the pool industry since high school, working for Neuman Pools. Olson Toon, and now here at Patio Pleasures since 2022. Somewhere along the way, I made Spa Retailer Magazine’s first-ever 30 Under 40 list, which still feels pretty cool to say.

When I’m not testing your water, you’ll probably catch me on a walk with my dog, cheering on the Brewers (or playing in my own rec league game), digging into new music, or brushing up on my Spanish to better connect with my Puerto Rican roots.

I’m proud to be part of the Patio Pleasures team, an employee-owned company where we all have a stake in making sure you have the best experience possible- whether you’re transforming your backyard oasis or just in for your weekly water check.

Hi, I’m Brandon! When I’m not helping customers find the perfect addition to their outdoor space, you can usually find me at Road America—either racing my car or wrenching on it. And if I’m not at the track, I’m probably in the Wisconsin Dells with my fiancée, Amber. We’re huge waterpark fans and have proudly been Noah’s Ark season pass holders for the past six years.

I’ve always had a passion for customer service, and I’m extremely proud to be part of the Patio Pleasures team. As an employee-owned company, we all work together with one goal in mind: delivering the best experience possible for our customers. Izzy has been an integral part of the Patio Pleasures team since 2021, starting her journey at the front counter, running water tests, and mastering the technical side of water chemistry. As the daughter of Patio Pleasures’ General Manager, Kim Steffenhagen, you could easily say that the pool and spa business is in her DNA. However, Izzy has truly built her own organic passion for the industry. At the start of 2025, she successfully transitioned into her current role as a Wellness Consultant. Today, she loves using her deep product knowledge to help others find true wellness and relaxation, guiding customers to discover their perfect hot tub, pool, sauna, or outdoor furniture setup so they can experience their own “endless weekend” right at home.

When she isn’t helping local families design their dream backyards, Izzy loves staying active and expanding her horizons. She enjoys unwinding with a good book, hitting the gym, baking delicious sweet treats for friends and family, and practicing her French. Izzy’s bright energy, lifelong connection to the Patio Pleasures family, and dedication to customer care make her a welcoming and trusted face for anyone looking to elevate their outdoor living space.

Marcus specializes in pool equipment and hot tub repair and maintenance, bringing an elite level of technical precision to the Patio Pleasures service team. Holding both a degree in Computer Science and a Certified Maintenance Specialist (CMS) certification, Marcus utilizes his analytical training to approach complex equipment issues as puzzles waiting to be solved. His innovative problem-solving skills and forward-thinking dedication to raising the bar for the industry quickly earned him national recognition, landing him a spot on SpaRetailer’s prestigious “30 Under 40” list in 2025. Driven by a desire to streamline hot tub serviceability and make repairs more cost-effective for homeowners, Marcus treats every service call as an opportunity to deliver efficient, creative, and top-tier technical solutions.

Outside of his work servicing pool and spa equipment, Marcus channels his practical, resourceful spirit into exploring the great outdoors. He is an avid backpacker who loves traveling and hiking all over Wisconsin with his girlfriend. When he isn’t out on the trails, Marcus loves unwinding by attending live concerts and soaking in the vibrant music scene.

I’m Ben and have worked in aquatic recreation for 10 years now. I started as a lifeguard and became a waterpark maintenance technician working for some of the largest waterpark resorts in the country. I’m a certified pool operator and certified pool maintenance specialist through the PHTA. I specialize in water chemistry and filtration. My role at Patio Pleasures is maintenance and repairs. When I’m not working I enjoy traveling to theme parks and water parks. I’ve been to over 30 different parks and have been on 180+ unique rollercoasters.

I’m a proud graduate of the Bullfrog Spas Academy and the Toolbox for Excellence Chemical program—and as a Bullfrog A8L owner myself, I love helping others find the perfect spa fit.

My wife, son, and I live just outside of Waunakee with our goofy dog, Nessie. When the weather warms up, you’ll likely find me on the baseball field—it’s a passion I’ve carried with me since childhood.

I’m Porter, a Wellness Consultant and Employee Owner at Patio Pleasures. I recently graduated from Madison College with a degree in IT Web Software Development and joined the company in May of 2026.

Outside of work, you can usually find me out on the golf course, fishing whenever I get the chance, playing pool at the nearest dive bar, or hunting for additions to my ever-growing vinyl collection. I’m passionate about music and love discovering and rating albums across all genres, as well as attending live shows whenever I can.

My favorite part about working at Patio Pleasures is seeing the excitement customers have when they walk through our doors and being able to fuel that excitement by guiding them through the process. I’m Jessi, a Wellness Consultant and Employee Owner at Patio Pleasures. I am a proud mom to four wonderful kids and the owner of two giant Great Danes. I am a huge Badger football fan, as my son is a former player. After a busy day at work I enjoy unwinding with an adult beverage and a card game. I am an avid reader and have even written and published a couple of books myself. I joined the company in Fall of 2024 and have loved the vibe here since the moment I began. Helping people turn their typical backyards into relaxing, rejuvenating spaces that they never want to leave, doesn’t even feel like work most days. Judah joined the Patio Pleasures team in January 2026, bringing a refreshing, relationship-driven approach to the Marketing Manager role. With a deeply rooted philosophy that prioritizes customer education and proactive communication over aggressive selling, Judah is dedicated to ensuring clients feel confident and supported at every stage of their journey.

Judah’s professional background blends strategy with hands-on technical and creative expertise. Prior to stepping into this role, he ran a small business focused on building high-performing websites for small businesses. This entrepreneurial venture was preceded by more than a decade of experience in a corporate marketing department, where he honed his skills in graphic design, web development, email marketing, and marketing strategy. At Patio Pleasures, Judah leverages this diverse toolkit to create a smoother, consistent, and more informative experience that helps homeowners inspire their endless weekend.

Outside of the office, Judah’s life revolves around faith, family, sports, and outdoors. Recently remarried, he loves spending his free time navigating the wonderful chaos of a blended family with four kids. A passionate local sports fan, Judah stays busy watching his kids excel in sports, and cheering on the Badgers, Brewers, and Packers.

Anthony “AJ” has been part of the Patio Pleasures family business since he a young boy & started working for the company at 15 years old. As the son of original owners Tom & Adrianne, AJ grew up around pools, hot tubs, and customer service, developing a strong work ethic and passion for the industry from an early age. Today, he serves as one of our lead technicians, bringing years of hands-on experience, technical knowledge, and dedication to every customer he works with.

When he’s not helping customers enjoy their backyard lifestyle, AJ can usually be found outdoors doing what he loves most: duck hunting with his friends, the “Yote Boys.” He’s an avid outdoorsman who enjoys spending time in nature alongside his loyal black lab, Piper, who rarely leaves his side and loves every adventure with AJ.
